Makeup Tips for Spring Seasons

Light Spring

Light Springs have are neutral-warm, light and slightly bright. Keep your makeup light, fresh and warm. Avoid colours that are too dark, cool or harsh. 

Foundation

Light Springs look great in light coverage foundations and BB creams. Go for a sheer, glowing base with a warm undertone. Avoid anything too heavy, matt, dark or cool-toned.

Lips

Opt for lip colours like soft coral-pink, light warm rose — these brighten up your face without overpowering. Avoid colours that are too dark and cool-toned, like deep berry, mauve, and purple.

Eyes

Brown eyeliner and mascara are your best friends! Traditional black mascara can look a bit harsh with your light colouring, but a warm brown is ideal!

Blush/Bronzer

Embrace your natural warm blush tones and freckles (if you have them). Your cheeks look best with soft coral or warm pink. You can handle quite a bit of blush and a little bit of bronzer. Don’t go overboard with the bronzer, though; it can make you look too muddy. A subtle bronzer and coral or warm pink blush can give you an amazing sun-kissed look.

True Spring

True Springs have a warm undertone, and lean light and bright. True Spring colouring is vivid but not aggressive. You glow in warm and energetic tones. Avoid anything too dark or cool-toned.

Like Light Springs, True Springs look their best in a light coverage, glowy and sheer foundation with warm undertones. Avoid anything too heavy or matte, or cool-toned.

Lips

Coral, peach, clear warm red, salmon pink shades work great on you! Keep it bright, light and warm, and avoid shades that are too dark, cool or muted, like deep red, cool pink, dark brown.

Eyes

Warm brown eyeliner and mascara are great on you! Black eyeliner/mascara may be too harsh. Likewise, avoid gray eyeliners/mascaras - wrong undertone.

Blush/Bronzer

You can pull off warm coral, peach blush and golden bronzer like no other. Your best makeup look will go light on the foundation but heavy on blush and bronzer, giving you that sun-kissed look! Avoid bronzers that are too dark though, as well as blush that is too cool-toned.

Eyeshadow

Think sunflower yellow, warm pinks, apricot, mossy green. You don’t need murky or metallic-heavy shades — just clean, warm pigment.

Bright Spring

Bright Springs have got the clarity of Winter with the warmth of Spring. Think striking eyes, brighter colouring, and the ability to wear actual hot pink or bright orange without looking like a clown. 

Foundation

You can take a little more structure. Opt for medium coverage with a satin finish — still breathable, but refined.

Lips

You’re one of the few who can rock a warm fuchsia, a juicy coral, or even a clear red. Embrace your brightness and warmth and wear those bold colours! What might look clownish on other seasons looks fabulous on you! Avoid anything too dusty, muted or murky - that can wash you out.

Eyes

You can wear black or dark brown mascara/eyeliner, and rock a cat eye.

You can handle more colour — apricot, watermelon, coral pink — as long as it’s crisp and not muddy. As for bronzer, opt for golden tones and use it sparingly for a polished and refined look. Avoid going too dark or heavy, as it can look muddy.

Eyeshadow

You get away with more colour than most — teal, gold, peach, warm pinks, even a pop of turquoise. But it has to be clean color, not murky or smoky.
