Famous Examples of Autumn Seasons

When analysing your color season, it can be super helpful to find celebrities who have similar features to you and see what their season is, what colors suit them, and what colors drain them. This can serve as inspiration for your own outfit, makeup, hair colors, jewellery and help you understand your own season better.

Most celebrities have not been verified by color analysts, but we can speculate on what their color season might be based on their natural features and the colors that suit them best.

True Autumn Celebrities: Warm, Muted & Deep

The True Autumn palette is warm, muted, and deep. Think of the rich and earthy colours of autumn leaves, and the golden glow of the autumn sun.

How do you spot a True Autumn?

True Autumns are going to have a lot of warm, golden and earthy qualities to them. The skin, hair and eyes will have a warm glow, and they’ll shine in colors like burnt orange, terracotta, olive green, mustard, tomato red, and all different shades of warm brown. One good way to spot a True Autumns is by seeing how they look in gold and bronze. Many other seasons don’t gel with it but on True Autumns (and Autumns in general), gold makes them come alive.

True Autumns have an obvious warmth about their appearance - whether that is a golden sun-kissed look, warm brown eyes or auburn hair. There will also be a hint of depth, as they’ll typically have features that are on the darker side.

Hair

The natural hair color of True Autumns is distinctly warm. Typically between levels 2-6N. It’s common for the hair to have a golden or reddish glow, with shades of chestnut brown, auburn, chocolate and caramel being common. They need warmth in their hair. You’ll notice that any color that is too cool like platinum blonde, black or cool brown just looks off.

Eyes

The eyes are warm and deep with eye colours such as hazel, warm brown, deep green, or amber. The eyes are usually rich and vivid.

Skin

The skin can range from deep to medium-light with warm undertones and rich, golden, or bronze quality. True Autumns usually tan easily and have a warm beige, golden, or deep olive tone, giving a vibrant, warm and earthy look.

Deep Autumn Celebrities: Dark, Warm & Muted

Deep Autumn (or Dark Autumn) revels in the dark, rich earthy tones - think of an evening in late November, cosying up by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.

The season combines the warmth of the Autumn season with the depth of Winter. This results in a palette that is warm, deep, and rich. The overall impression of Deep Autumn is intense and earthy, with colours that are saturated and warm.

How do you spot a Deep Autumn?

The first thing you might notice about Deep Autumn is their deep coloring. They’ll usually have dark brown or almost black hair, and deep eyes - dark brown, dark hazel, or even dark green. Skintones can be medium or dark with a warm glow. The main quality is that it is dark for the person’s ethnicity, with a hint of warmth.

What you’ll pick up with Deep Autumn though, is that they shine in dark and warm colors, like mahogany, chocolate brown, dark olive, aubergine, and deep teal. These types of colors make them come alive, whereas anything too light like baby blue, light pink, or silver, washes them out.

Hair

The natural hair of Deep Autumns will usually be between a natural level 1N and 4N with warm undertones. The color can range from black to dark brown to chocolate brown or even dark mahogany. Deep Autumn hair often has a rich appearance with warm highlights. You’ll notice that they look far better in darker hair closer to their natural color and that blonde just looks off on them.

Eyes

The eyes of Deep Autumns are usually dark brown, black-brown, deep hazel or dark olive. The eyes are typically rich and warm, with noticeable depth.

Skin

The skin can range from dark to medium with warm to neutral undertones and a deep, rich quality. The skin often has a golden, olive, or bronze tone and radiates subtle warmth.

Soft Autumn Celebrities: Muted, Warm & Dark

The first thing you might notice about Soft Autumn is their muted coloring. The hair, eyes and skin all blend softly, and there are no harsh contrasts between them. They’ll usually have natural hair in the range of 3N-7N with soft golden warmth, and soft muted eyes - hazel, amber, brown or even green. Skintones can be medium or dark with a warm glow.

What you’ll pick up with Soft Autumn though, is that they shine in muted and warm colors, like beige, soft olive, soft brown, muted teal, and terracotta. These types of colors make them come alive, whereas anything too bright, such as magenta, cobalt, or emerald green, washes them out.

It can sometimes be difficult to tell a Soft Autumn apart from a Soft Summer, Light Spring or Light Summer. One thing to look out for is a soft, muted and earthy quality to their appearance, with all features blending together softly. No harsh contrasts between hair and skin and eyes.

Hair

The natural hair color of Soft Summers is around a level 3-7N depending on ethnicity. One thing that you'll notice though is that the hair color is not much darker than the skin color and can even be the same level of depth. For example, someone with medium dark skin might have level 4-5 hair, and someone with medium-fair skin might have level 6-7 hair. The hair also has a soft golden glow to it. Soft Autumns look wonderful with golden highlights

Eyes

The eyes can range from hazel, amber, brown to green. It’s quite typical for Soft Autumns to have eyes that seem different in various lighting and where you can’t quite tell the color. For example, eyes that look green in one lighting and brown in another. The eyes will also have a soft muted and earthy quality to them.

Skin

The skin can range from medium-dark to medium-light and typically is not much lighter than the hair. Soft Autumns usually tan well. The skin is medium-warm in undertone with some earthiness to it.

It's important to note, though, that none of these celebrities are verified, and it can be difficult to determine the color season of celebrities from photos alone. However, there are some people that I see have the qualities of Autumn, and that other color analysts have also speculated might be Autumns.
